Empowering Green Energy Transition through Strategic Collaboration
Bulb Energy was a beacon of innovation in the retail energy sector, committed to providing affordable, renewable energy to homes across the UK. As a champion for sustainability, Bulb has not only prioritised environmental responsibility but also placed a strong emphasis on customer service and transparency. Their dedication to making green energy accessible to all has set new standards in the energy industry, and made them a beloved brand among eco-conscious consumers. Unfortunately the energy crisis of 2022 left the business unable to maintain operations, it became the first company in UK history to enter special administration at which point I was brought in.
My engagement at Bulb was cantered around collaborative leadership during a pivotal transition period. In an interim role, I steered the existing product and lead on a post-sale transformation, focused on securing taxpayer value and ensuring a seamless customer migration. My efforts led to the rapid deployment of government support worth £600m to customers, a testament to the power of teamwork and strategic agility. This period was about more than stewardship; it was about setting a course towards becoming an independent SaaS company Zoa and laying the groundwork for future innovation.
